Mission Statement
To build on the collective and individual competencies and capabilities inherent in children, families, and the community to support and foster the achievement of potential.

History
The Ridge Meadows Child Development Centre Society was founded in 1989 as a non-profit charitable organization by a group of parents and professionals concerned about the lack of paediatric rehabilitation services in the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows area. Our initial location was at the St. John the Divine Church on River Road. In 1995 we moved into the former Yennadon Elementary School on 232nd Street and in 2006 grew into a larger, more centrally located space on Dewdney Trunk Road.

Who we serve and referral information
The Early Intervention Program serves families of children with confirmed or suspected developmental delays or disorders in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows until they enter school. Anyone can make a referral by completing a Request For Service form. You may also call us and ask to have a Request For Service form mailed or faxed to you. Or you can drop in and pick it up at the Centre during regular business hours.

Through the School-Age Therapy Program, children enrolled in a public school in Maple Ridge or Pitt Meadows may receive consultation services from a physiotherapist or occupational therapist. A referral for school-based consultation must be made by the school.

The Family Connections Program is a service to help families strengthen their own networks of support when faced with their children's and/or adolescents' challenging behaviours.  Through this program, families may also receive parent support and education, linkage/referral to other community services and opportunities to meet other parents.  This program runs in conjunction with the Early Intervention Program and as a stand alone service.  Families not receiving Early Intervention Services can make a referral by completing a Family Connections Request for Service form.  You may also call us and ask to have a Request For Service form mailed or faxed to you. Or you can drop in and pick it up at the Centre during regular business hours.
